Emerald Ash Borer in Kentucky [New 2019 Info!]

Emerald Ash Borer in Kentucky

This is our seventh year battling the Emerald Ash Borer. Our perseverance has become noticeable in our Ash trees health and continued survival. Bob Ray Co., Inc.’s management of these trees is beginning to reap the dividends of a strenuous and dedicated fight to save and protect those growing along our streets and in our yards.

Our treatment plan is allowing trees to thrive and grow.

As we strive to protect and maintain them, the trees we have injected continue to thrive and grow, while those trees that have not been maintained and protected continue to fall to this foreign insect.

Consensus of researchers studying and tracking the movement of the Emerald Ash Borer believe that our treatment regimen may need to continue another five to seven years, following the insects’ population peak. Some of our Kentucky counties have most likely reached peak infestation, and the borer’s population will continue to decrease as the number of viable untreated Ash trees decrease.

Bob Ray Co., Inc., employs the Arborjet product, Tree-Age. This chemical has proven to be highly successful. Our continued usage has provided protection for more than 3,000 Ash trees in the Kentuckiana area and, with your dedicated support, will continue to do so.

Our treatment programs begin mid-May

We will begin our treatment program mid-May, injecting Ash trees throughout the summer into August. If you are not currently treating your Ash trees for the Emerald Ash Borer, contact us so that our Certified Arborist Laura may come out and set up a treatment plan for your trees.
